M&A IT Integration Project Manager
Porto · Senior · Full-time
You have the opportunity to join our team and tackle business challenges in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment characterized by close collaboration with business stakeholders.
As a M&A IT Integration Project Manager, you will lead the IT integration of mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, and divestments across the EMEA region for a global market leader in chemical and ingredients distribution, operating across dozens of countries and serving hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide.
You will own the end-to-end IT integration journey — from understanding the deal pipeline, through planning and resourcing, to onboarding each acquired company’s applications and teams into our IT environment and standards — while carrying full responsibility for the integration budget, from creation through execution.
This is a central role in an ongoing focus on value-creating M&A and market consolidation, working closely with the Regional PMO, IT Business Partners, and IT teams across the organization to bring every newly acquired business onto a common operating model.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- IT Integration Leadership: Own the end-to-end IT integration of M&A transactions (acquisitions, carve-outs, divestments) across EMEA — from deal pipeline through full integration into the company’s IT environment and standards — partnering with the corporate M&A team on planning and resourcing.
- Budget Ownership: Take full responsibility for the M&A integration budget, from creation through execution — owning spend, forecasts, and cost control.
- Process Design & Standardization: Design and implement a new end-to-end integration process spanning business and IT, driving standardization to bring acquired companies onto the target operating model across applications, processes, infrastructure, and ways of working.
- Stakeholder & Contract Management: Work with the Regional PMO and IT Business Partners to socialize each project and secure execution capacity; coordinate with all IT teams on provisioning and costs; manage the IT contracts in scope of each M&A transaction (review, transition, renegotiation, and exit).
- Governance & Reporting: Ensure integration follows IT governance, security, data-protection, and procurement standards; provide monthly integration status reporting to IT leadership.
Your Skills and Experiences:
- 7+ years of project/programme management experience, including demonstrable success leading IT M&A integration, carve-out, or divestment projects.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end M&A lifecycle and IT’s role within it (deal pipeline, due diligence, Day 1, post-merger integration, transitional service agreements).
- Full-cycle budget ownership: proven experience building, controlling, and executing integration budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement end-to-end processes that bridge business and IT.
- Strong IT contract-management skills (review, transition, renegotiation, and exit).
- Broad IT knowledge across applications, infrastructure, networks, and security, with the ability to coordinate provisioning and cost across IT teams; ERP/SAP integration experience is a strong plus.
- Proven experience driving standardization — bringing acquired entities onto a target operating and technology model.
- Excellent conflict-management skills, with the ability to align stakeholders who have competing interests.
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills across corporate M&A, IT leadership, IT business partners, the regional PMO, and external advisors.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience within the chemical distribution industry, or a similarly complex global distribution business, is a plus.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are an advantage.
What you can expect from us:
- Highly attractive salary and benefits;
- Meaningful, high-impact work — your role directly shapes how newly acquired businesses are integrated into a global industry leader;
- You will be part of a company where commitment, quality, and continuous improvement are core principles of our culture;

- International career opportunities;
